Zimbabwe will compete in the Unity Cup 2026 in London alongside Nigeria, Jamaica, and India. The Warriors will face Nigeria in the semi-final, with matches scheduled between 26 and 30 May. ZIFA officials say the tournament offers a platform for international competition and diaspora support.

The Zimbabwe Football Association (ZIFA) has confirmed that the Zimbabwe national football team, the Warriors, will participate in the Unity Cup 2026, a four-nation international tournament to be held in London from 26 to 30 May.

The tournament will take place at The Valley, the home ground of Charlton Athletic. The competition will feature four countries: Zimbabwe, Nigeria, Jamaica, and India, bringing together teams from different regions for a short international series.

Zimbabwe is scheduled to face Nigeria in the opening semi-final on 26 May. The second semi-final will take place on 27 May, with Jamaica playing against India. Both matches are set to kick off at 7:30pm, and the winning teams will move on to the final match on 30 May.

ZIFA said the Unity Cup was last staged at the same venue in 2004. The association noted that the tournament has grown into an event that combines football with cultural and diaspora engagement, creating a platform for communities to connect through sport.

ZIFA President Nqobile Magwizi described the competition as an important opportunity for Zimbabwean football. He said the tournament reflects the country’s aim to compete at a higher level and to test its progress against international teams.

“The Unity Cup is a landmark moment for Zimbabwe football. It reflects our ambition to compete, grow and test ourselves at a high international level,” said Magwizi in the statement released by the association.

Warriors head coach Marian Marinica said the team views the tournament as a strong platform to represent the country. He added that the opportunity to play in an international setting is important for the development of the squad.

“This is a strong platform for us as a team and an important chance to represent Zimbabwe with pride on an international stage,” said Marinica.

Team captain Marvelous Nakamba said the players are ready for the challenge. He noted that playing in London, where many Zimbabweans are based, adds significance to the matches.

“It is always an honour to represent Zimbabwe, and playing in London in front of our supporters in the diaspora makes this occasion even more special,” said Nakamba.

ZIFA encouraged Zimbabweans living in the United Kingdom and other countries to attend the matches and support the national team. The association highlighted the role of supporters in creating a strong presence for the Warriors during international competitions.

Tickets for the Unity Cup are available online, with prices starting from £18. The tournament is expected to run over four days, ending with the final match on 30 May.
