According to information received by Masvingo Mirror, the bank’s alarm system was activated during the incident, prompting the branch manager to rush to the scene.

The manager was reportedly injured while running away from the robbers after arriving at the bank. Details of the extent of his injuries were not immediately available.

The circumstances surrounding the robbery, including how many people were involved, remain unclear based on the information available.

The amount of cash taken from the ATM has also not been disclosed. Police have yet to provide an official account of the incident.

Efforts to obtain a comment from Police Spokesperson Paul Nyathi were unsuccessful.

The latest incident comes three months after another robbery at ZB Bank’s Ngezi branch. No further details about the earlier robbery were provided in the information available.

The robbery has resulted in the temporary closure of the ZB Bank Gutu branch. The bank has issued a statement informing its clients that the branch will remain temporarily closed.

The temporary closure follows the reported break-in and damage to the ATM. Information about when the branch will reopen was not provided.

Clients have been informed of the temporary closure as the bank deals with the situation following the incident.

The latest robbery has raised concerns around the security of the Gutu branch, although authorities have not yet publicly provided details about the investigation.

The reported entry through the roof and subsequent blasting of the ATM indicate that the robbers targeted the bank’s cash facilities after gaining access to the premises.

However, the identity of the suspects, the amount stolen and whether any arrests have been made remain unknown.

Police have not yet provided a comment on the reported robbery, while efforts to reach Police Spokesperson Paul Nyathi for comment were unsuccessful.

For now, the confirmed information is that ZB Bank’s Gutu branch at Mpandawana Growth Point was reportedly targeted by robbers, an ATM was blasted and cash was taken.

The branch has subsequently been temporarily closed, with ZB Bank informing its clients of the development.

Further details are expected as information about the robbery and the police investigation becomes available.
