Mahikeng activist and traditional healer Thato Molosankwe has been shot dead after unknown attackers targeted him at his home in Lomanyaneng on Wednesday morning.
According to police, Molosankwe sustained multiple gunshot wounds during the attack and died at the scene. Authorities have not yet disclosed details surrounding the suspects involved or the possible motive behind the killing.

Police confirmed that investigations into the murder are underway as officers search for those responsible for the shooting.
Acting National Commissioner Puleng Dimpane condemned the killing and assured residents that authorities would intensify efforts to bring the perpetrators to justice.
Dimpane said law enforcement agencies would leave no stone unturned in the investigation and had already mobilised maximum resources to track down the attackers.
In a statement, police described Molosankwe as a community-minded individual who worked closely with local police structures on programmes aimed at fighting crime and corruption in the area.
“Mr Molosankwe has been described by local police as a community-minded individual who played an important role in assisting police efforts aimed at fighting crime and corruption as well as strengthening relations between SAPS and communities,” police said in a statement.
The killing has raised concern within the Mahikeng community, where Molosankwe was known both as an activist and traditional healer involved in community affairs.
Police have not announced any arrests in connection with the shooting and investigations are continuing.
Authorities are expected to provide more details as investigations progress into the circumstances surrounding the murder.
