BREAKING:

Highlanders FC have announced a new sponsorship partnership with Bulawayo-based Willsgrove Food Market, which has been unveiled as the club’s official nutritional partner.

The agreement will see Willsgrove Food Market work closely with the Bosso first team by providing nutritional support aimed at improving player health, performance and recovery throughout the season. The partnership brings together one of Zimbabwe’s most recognised football clubs and a local business committed to promoting healthy living.

In a statement, Highlanders said the partnership reflects the club’s commitment to ensuring players have access to quality nutrition as part of their preparations both on and off the pitch. The club said nutrition remains an important component in helping players maintain fitness levels and recover effectively during a demanding football season.

The sponsorship agreement is expected to provide direct support to the first team, with a focus on improving the overall wellbeing of players. Club officials believe proper nutrition plays an important role in helping athletes perform consistently throughout the campaign.

Highlanders Chief Executive Officer Denzil Mnkandla welcomed the partnership and said the agreement represents an important development for the club’s player welfare programme.

“Our players are our greatest assets. This partnership is a massive step forward in how we prioritize the health and performance,” said Mnkandla.

The latest partnership adds another commercial relationship to Highlanders’ growing portfolio as the club continues to strengthen its links with the corporate sector. The club has secured several partnerships in recent months as part of ongoing efforts to support its operations and activities.

Speaking on behalf of Willsgrove Food Market, Branch Manager Sikhumbuzo Gwebu said the company was pleased to be working with Highlanders FC and supporting the team during the season.

“We are proud to partner with Highlanders FC as their Official Nutritional Partner. This partnership reflects our commitment to promoting healthy lifestyles while supporting one of Zimbabwe’s most iconic football clubs. We look forward to growing together and serving both the teams and the Bosso family throughout the season,” said Gwebu.

The partnership also highlights the role local businesses continue to play in supporting football in Zimbabwe. By working together, both organisations hope to create value through a relationship focused on nutrition, health and sporting performance.

For Highlanders, the agreement forms part of wider efforts to provide players with the resources needed to compete effectively throughout the season. Access to nutritional support is expected to contribute positively to player preparation, recovery and overall wellbeing.

The announcement comes as Highlanders continue their centenary celebrations and attract corporate backing from different sectors. The club believes partnerships such as this one can contribute towards achieving its objectives on and off the field while strengthening relationships with the business community.
