MDC Alliance Vice president Tendai Biti is feared missing, this comes after he went silent since last night and nothing has been heard from him.
Other journalists have put forward that The state should urgently provide information on the whereabouts of our VP who is also a prominent Human Rights activist,” he added.
According an, eye witnesses living in the neighbourhood heard they said they heard loud gunshots around 11PM and saw five armed men whom they said might be state security agents hitting and dragging Mr Biti into an unidentified white ISUZU twin cab which then drove off at a very high speed.
“He has not been heard from since and his phone is unreachable raising grave concerns that he has been forcibly disappeared. We have alerted the international community about this incident and we are looking forward to get all the necessary assistance which might help us locate the missing VP.” He said in a statement.
The Police at Harare Central have been reached for a comment but have directed all questions to Assistant Commissioner Paul Nyathi whose phone was unreachable at the time this news article was written.
The party spokesperson Fadzai Mahere has however dismissed all these claims, she admitted that there is something going on but she said it is not clear at this moment what it could.
She also tweeted that she has spoken with Biti on the phone and he is fine.
